मेरे बारे में

शिमला के पहाडों के वासियों को खाडुभाई कहा जाता है। मुझे इस शब्द के इतिहास के बारे में ज्यादा कुछ नहीं मालूम लेकिन जहाँ तक मुझे याद आता है, यह शब्द हमारे साथ जुडा हुआ है। जहाँ हिमाचल प्रदेश में शिमला के पहाडी लोगों को खाडुभाई कहा जाता है वहीँ प्रदेश से बाहर हिमाचल वासियों को भी खाडू कहा जाता है, खास कर स्कूल और कॉलेज में।

पहाड़ में लोग आज भी खेतीबाडी करते हैं। शिमला के पहाडों में कई तरह के बाग़ बगीचे हैं। यहाँ के युवा अब बाहर निकलकर विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में नया कैरियर अपना चुके हैं। यह प्रयास है अपनी संस्कृति से, अपनी माटी से जुड़ने का और अपने विचार रखने का.

शायद कुछ लोगों को खाडू शब्द से आपत्ति हो लेकिन फिर भी आपके पास कोई सुझाव या विचार है तो मुझे लिख भेजिए:

Khadu bhai, is a popular phrase used for people from Shimla hills. I don’t know the origin of this phrase but this has been there for ages as far as I remember. Khadu bhai are simple hill folk who are not worldly wise and take people at face value and often get rebuffed. Where anyone from Shimla hills is called Khadu in Himachal, in Chandigarh anyone from Himachal is called Khadu, particularly in colleges.

Shimla hills is mainly an agrarian society and have some of the best horticulture farms. The older generation is still into farming but Gen Next has started moving out and have taken up more conventional careers. This is an attempt to showcase our culture, views and some discussions.
